Hi Senators,
On 11.7.20, we worked with the Provost on a survey about whether to pivot courses online on snow days; the responses were split roughly 50-50.

We are redoing this survey here with a few more questions.

We are asking Senators to complete the poll.

Thank you!
SNOW DAY
In the event of snow closure, should we run all courses online? (In other words: online classes stay online; in-person courses pivot online)
One idea for next AY: Maybe we might cancel classes (online or otherwise) on a snow day, while encouraging (though not requiring) faculty to administer an asynchronous 'snow day makeup' assignment within a few days of the snow cancellation; that way we can take a snow day (often connected to childcare and other responsibilities) without sacrificing as much learning time. If classes are cancelled for a snow day, faculty could decide whether or not to assign asynchronous assignments or use the time another way.
