The model for payment related mentoring/coaching/advising your FSEM students during the Winter and Spring quarters has shifted from scheduled payments to a more individualized model. This new method requires FSEM faculty to complete the following form, where you will have the opportunity to identify how you are engaging with your students (in a mentoring/coaching/advising capacity) in order to receive compensation for your time and effort, as well as funding needs for activities, such as a pizza party.
Please be aware that the maximum amount you can expect to be compensated for mentoring/coaching/advising is $500/quarter, in which individual course advising, for each of your FSEM students, serves as the benchmark for receiving that full amount. If you have identified yourself as an FSEM faculty member that will offer individualized advising, you still need to complete this form, and you will also not be eligible for additional compensation for your time if you do host an additional activity, such as a pizza party. You will, however, be eligible for activities funding to pay for that pizza party.
Example A: Rachael has identified herself as the primary FSEM advisor for her students throughout the year, and her students will meet with her individually during both the Winter and Spring quarters to release their registration holds. Rachael also wants to have a pizza party for her students and submits for reimbursement for food/drinks for $150. She will receive $500 as compensation for her advising and $150 for reimbursement.
Example B: Rachael has decided to send her students to the Office of Academic Advising for advising but still wants to connect with her students to coach and advise during the Winter and Spring Quarters. In the Winter, she had decided to host a pizza party with her FSEM students. She has asked for $150 in reimbursement for food/drinks and $100 for compensation for her time.
Please submit separate forms for multiple activities throughout the Winter and Spring quarters. The review of compensation requests will be completed by the Faculty Director of FSEM & ASEM, Rachael Liberman, Monica Kosanovich, Grace Warner, and Jennifer Karas.
