CWC Leadership Scholars Enrichment & Emergency Assistance Fund 24-25 Applications

The CWC Leadership Scholars program provides limited financial assistance to CWC Leadership Scholars currently enrolled at the University of Denver for enrichment activities and emergency needs. The fund is designated to offset a short-term financial need and is not intended to replace or supplement financial aid. Funds are awarded as a grant, and unlike a loan, do not need to be repaid. Funds are awarded through the student's financial aid package and as such, may count as income and may be subject to federal and/or state taxes.

Enrichments funds are considered for CWC Leadership Scholars seeking to pursue opportunities related to enhancing their leadership development.

Applicants can only receive enrichment funds for up to $500 each time they apply. The applicant may receive up to $1000 total during their time as a CWC Leadership Scholar.

Types of enrichment expenses that may be covered:

  • Travel (airfare, gas, etc.) to and from enrichment opportunity (Please note we cannot split ticket costs exceeding $500)
  • Hotel/Lodging costs related to enrichment opportunity

Emergency funds are considered for CWC Leadership Scholars who are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses because of a temporary hardship related to an unexpected situation that directly impacts the student's ability to persist at DU.

Applicants can only receive emergency funds twice during the time they are in the CWC Leadership Scholars Program. The applicant may receive up to $2000 on each occasion, not to exceed $4000 total.
